A Modified Delphi Study to Improve Prehospital Mass Casualty Incident Response

Introduction: The Novel Integrated Toolkit for Enhanced Pre-Hospital Life Support and Triage in Challenging Large Emergencies (NIGHTINGALE) project was awarded to a consortium design an innovative toolkit featuring different technological solutions prehospital mass casualty incident (MCI) response. Translational science (T) methodology undertaken develop evidence-based guidelines MCI Method: divided into three work groups (WGs) Triage, Prehospital Damage Control Processes. Each WG previously collected data through the T1 scoping review stage provide foundation initial T2 modified Delphi draft statements present internal focus content NIGHTINGALE study objectives. Their refined proceeded specific external further editing be clear concise following consensus rounds. Final were presented experts their using STAT59 platform with instruction rank each statement on seven-point linear numeric scale, where 1 = disagree 7 agree. Consensus amongst defined as standard deviation ≤1.0. Results: After rounds, 18 of 24 attained by experts, eight 25 23 28 Processes experts. Conclusion: will utilize during T3 phase create response guidelines.
